Why rent per square metre, and not just rent
Two properties at the same monthly rent are not the same deal if one is twice the size of the other. Rent per square metre, or per square foot since Uganda quotes both, puts properties of different sizes on one comparable number, so “which is cheaper” stops depending on which one happens to be bigger.

If you only know the room’s dimensions, which is a common way space gets described here (“it’s about 10 by 12”), switch to dimensions and enter length and width in feet or metres instead.
