By creating an account or using the RentEase platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these terms.

2. Description of Service

RentEase provides a cloud-based property management system designed for the Ugandan market. Key services include digital tenancy management, automated rent collection via Mobile Money, financial reporting, and maintenance tracking.

3. User Obligations

As a user of RentEase, you agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
Maintain the security of your password and identification.
Comply with the Landlord and Tenant Act 2022 in all your rental transactions.
Ensure that all property listings and tenancy agreements are legitimate and legally compliant.

4. Rent Collection and Payments

RentEase facilitates rent collection through integrated third-party payment providers (Mobile Money).

Fees: We may charge transaction fees or service fees as outlined in our Pricing Plans.
Disbursements: Collected rent is disbursed to your designated account according to our standard processing times.
Liability: RentEase is a facilitator and is not responsible for payment disputes between landlords and tenants. All receipts generated are based on transaction data confirmed by payment providers.

5. Tenancy Agreements

Our digital lease templates are provided for convenience and are designed to comply with Ugandan law. However, users should seek independent legal advice for specific complex rental situations. RentEase is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

6. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the platform to:

Engage in any fraudulent or illegal activity.
Upload false or misleading property information.
Harass or intimidate tenants or landlords.
Attempt to bypass the platform's payment systems.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in activity that may harm our Service or other users.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ugandan law, RentEase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
